ENDORSEMENTS
MARCH 5, 2024 PRIMARIES
DISCLAIMER:  A Candidate Endorsement is not a marriage proposal.  This is
Not Until Death Do We Part.  It's not personal.  It is about doing what is right for the future of the people you are to represent.

It is a statement that, at this moment, in this race, you are the recommended candidate among those available who are running for office.
As soon as I can replace you with someone better than you, I will.
White Supremacy is institutionalized in our analysis of who is the "Best Candidate," and this must end.  Just because you have held the office and have been doing a great job in the past (being a corporate Warhawk), which might have been necessary for your generation, doesn't necessarily make you the best candidate to push us towards the 22nd Century Vision that I am writing about in my new book coming out in September of 2024.
If you want to keep getting my vote,  my advocacy and my money, always make sure you are always the better choice.

(Note:  I am just one person and I have an opinion.  If you Don't like the Opinion you are free to ignore it.  I won't take it personally.)  I have been asked to share my opinion with some people and here they are.  I am Naked and Unafraid on TiKTok

Note:  In races where there is only one Democrat running against a Republican it is pretty much a slam dunk to endorse unless they have done something egregiously bad.  Comments beyond who they are running against are based on my personal experiences with the candidates in talking to them and observing them in various candidate endorsement interviews, or how they have behaved in office.  These are just my own singular opinions here.

CALIFORNIA FEDERAL RACES

U.S. House CA-23 - Derek Marshall+^

U.S. House CA-26 - Julia Brownley*

U.S. House CA-27 - George Whitesides^

U.S. House CA-28 - Judy Chu*

U.S. House CA-29 -  Angélica Dueñas - U.S. House CA-29 - Angelica Dueñas has my vote. Don't get me wrong here. I love Luz Rivas. She is an effective and brilliant leader. But in this race for this moment, Angelica is my top pick because we need Chingonas in Congress. Plain and simple. Let me mention strategic voting for a second. In some respects, the primaries are an opportunity to vote for my values. It is a way for our community to signal to both the Democratic Party and people who currently hold office.

What we are looking for when it comes to our elected officials. I love the diversity of our Democratic Party And how we can come together and get things done. But sometimes, that means power gets consolidated into a few people, and new ideas and different ways of thinking are not readily accepted. That's why I feel like sometimes we need a very strong push from the activists; people like Angelica Duenas, who won't just drop it when it comes to seeing an uncomfortable problem that needs to be fixed and addressed.

Specifically, someone close to me has a child attending North Valley Military Academy. In my opinion, from what I have seen of the evidence, this was a charter school failure that did not provide a safe educational environment to its children and was ultimately a failure in providing for their health and well-being when it came to exposure to bullying, drugs, and sexual assault. And out of everyone I knew Angelica was the only one standing up to all the rich politics holding office supporting this terrible school. She was fearless in her advocacy for the students of that school. And it pissed off a lot of people, including Tony Cardenas, who gave much money to that school, as I can only imagine. Too often, I see politicians who've invested in what would have been a good idea be reluctant To stop supporting things they have supported for fear of how it might make them look. And that's the value of Angelica in Congress. I've known her for years and not once. I have ever known her to run away from any uncomfortable truth. I believe she will go to Washington, DC, And she won't be afraid to stir up the pot. So many people are focused on whether she has the experience in public office to do well.

Experience in public office at that level is not what's necessary to create change in Washington, DC. Luz Rivas's talents are different and also needed in Congress. Every soup needs its meat and potatoes in my opinion. Luz is all that! But from where I sit with my political experience... no longer entirely a neophyte.... Congress needs some seasoning because the soup is pretty bland. Angelica is just the one we need to spice it up. Good luck, Angelica, in this primary.

U.S. House CA-30 -

U.S. House CA-32 -  First, let me say that Congressmember Brad Sherman has done a fantastic job representing us for the years he has been in office.  He is a staunch ally of both the LGBTQ and Jewish Communities.  For those reasons alone one would think he should be returned to office for as long as he is willing to serve.  But as I have said before, an endorsement is not a marriage proposal.  So there is the ultimate question for me. . . when is it time to hand over the reins to the next generation?   What is the Congress Member doing to help prepare young people in his district take over the reins when it is his time to retire?  What if he never decides to retire?  That is why, in this Primary, I would like to get some eyes on Chris Ahuja. Check him out.  So the next question I ask myself, if I vote for the alternative do I create a risk that the REPUBLICAN will be running against Ahuja and can he beat her?  My safe bet is that a few of us in this primary can afford to vote for Christ Ahuja to make a statement about wanting to get new blood in Congress.  We will revisit this race after March 5, 2024.
